The heat levels rising to new highs everyday. Temperatures have been insanely high and humidity levels are intolerable.  Almost everyone  feels dehydrated and low on energy at this time of the year. Our body surely needs cooling foods that will balance our diet and keep us cool, Here are ideal cooling food for you

1. Cucumber

Cucumber costs little and it has lots of fibre that can help in keeping you cool. It is surely a must eat food item.

2. Mint

Mint is easily available, inexpensive herb which can be used to make pudina raita or have it in the form of chutneys. It can be grown in a small pot at home for your use.It have delicious and refreshing taste.

3. Yogurt

Curd is an amazing coolant.A delicious glass of lassi or chachh and raita can be made by curd. You can also add fruits to the curds to make a wholesome dessert.

4. Coconut water

Coconut is full of health benefits and has amazing cooling properties. It has simple sugars, electrolytes and essential minerals which hydrates the body.Coconut water has also cancer fighting and anti-ageing properties.

5. Onions

Onions have amazing cooling properties. Oninons can be added into curries, dips, raitas, salads and chutneys. Red onions are very rich in quercetin, it is an anti-allergen.Onions can also provide you protection against sunstroke.

6. Watermelon

Watermelon can help you keep cool in summers. Avoid buying chopped watermelon slices sold by the roadside vendors for avoiding the risk of a diarrhoea.
