In this first blog we are starting with very basic stuffs such as, the very word Photography, Light, Camera Lens, Types of Light, and Working of camera.
But before we start, let us understand first how this word photography emerged. The word “photography” was derived from greek words φωτός (phōtos), genitive of φῶς (phōs), “light” and γραφή (graphé) “representation by means of lines” or “drawing”, together meaning “drawing with light”. So let us be very clear about the fact that the light is the primary working tool for any photographer.
Light is a portion of electromagnetic spectrum which is visible to our naked eyes. When all of the components of the visible spectrum are present the light is considered to be “white” and when all are absent the light is considered to be “black”. If we pass the light through a prism we will be able to view all the visible spectrum bands. Whenever a light ray passes through any of the lens it bends.
A camera lens is an optical lens or assembly of lenses used in conjunction with a camera body and mechanism to make images of objects either on photographic film or on other media capable of storing an image chemically or electronically.
Perfect Light is the light which falls on the subject in perfect quantity & color in a perfect angle creating a desired image
