Captain Monica Khanna the pilot in command of Patna – Delhi SpiceJet Boeing 737 is known to be an experienced officer. The flight with 185 passengers made an emergency landing at Patna airport after the left engine of the aircraft caught fire, shortly after it took off from Patna. Captain Monica Khanna switched off the engines immediately after she was informed by the crew members and returned safely to the airport with the passengers unharmed. There were no reports of injuries officials said.
Captain Monica and first officer Balpreet Singh Bhatia kept themselves calm throughout the time and handled the aircraft well during the time of the incident. SpiceJet’s chief of flight operations said that the officers were well experienced and that they were proud of the officers.
