Bollywood is now in the Biopic Mood!
Bollywood is in a Biopic mood

After Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi, Thackery and The Accidental Prime Minister in the first month of the year, Bollywood is in no mood to give biopics a break. In the recent past, a number of biopics on inspirational people have been made and there seems to be more on the way. Soon there will more women biopic movies in the theaters and we are surely gonna have lots of interesting movies to watch and have popcorn with.

Here is a list of the upcoming biopics of the year:

  1. PM Narendra Modi: So yes, finally a biopic on our honorable Pm is going to hit the cinemas. We will see Vivek Oberoi as the lead and various other actors like Zarina Wahab, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, Barkha Bisht Sengupta among others are going to be a part of the masterpiece. The biopic will showcase the life journey of PM Narendra Modi starting from his struggling days to becoming to Chief Minister to the current date. 
  2. Chhapaak: We need a biopic on acid attack survivors big time. Seeing this as an opportunity Meghna Gulzar is all set to start the shoot for the biopic on Laxmi Aggarwal, an acid attack survivor. Deepika Padukone will be playing the survivor with Vikram Massey. 
  3. Yeh Dil Maange More: Though the title of the movie sounds like one of a romantic movie, this will be a biopic based on the life of a Kargil war hero who fought and gave his life with a smile on face. The movie is set to release in 2019 starring Siddharth Kapoor. 
  4. Saina: Based on the life of the Indian shuttler Saina Mirza, the biopic has finally been finalized. Ace actor Shraddha Kapoor will be playing the lead role. The movie is set to release in 2019 but the precise month has not been declared yet. 
  5. Syed Abdul Rahman: The biopic is expected to bring to life the Indian footballer Syed Abdul Rahman who was also a Hyderabad coach and led a spectacular rise to the Indian team in the 1950s. Actor Ajay Devgan is expected to play the role of the footballer. 
  6. P. V. Sindhu: Sonu Sood recently announced he will be making a biopic on the shuttler P. V. Sindhu. She has been the first women to bring home an Olympic silver medal. Deepika Padukone has been approached for the role.
  7. Abhinav Bindra: Harshvardhan Kapoor has been finalized to play the biopic of Abhinav Bindra who won the Olympic gold medal in shooting. The film will also be starring Anil Kapoor. 
  8. Gunjan Saxena: Jhanvi Kapoor is all set to play the biopic of the first lady IAF pilot. She is remembered in the history for evacuating the passengers during Kargil in 1999. The movie is expected to release by the end of this year. 
  9. Osho Biopic: The controversial Godman Osho will be seen as Aamir Khan in 2020. According to the sources, Alia Bhatt is also being approached for the movie.
  10. Rakesh Sharma: Replacing Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan will be playing the IAF pilot in the biopic. The movie is speculated to be out by 2020. 

Looks like a lot of biopics coming up this year.
