Fun things we used to do in Summer.

If the term “Garmi ki Chutti” makes you smile, you are probably 90s kids. Summer vacation was not just a vacation. It brought freedom that we can do everything or we can explore everything. Like making different hairstyles as it's “Garmi ki Chutti”. Visiting Dadi’s or Nani’s place was the best destination for spending summer. The whole family would preferably come together to spend a holiday and eat mangoes. We called this second home and it is the perfect time to spend quality time with parents, grandparents, cousins, etc. Playing Ludo, carom, OR cards and no restrictions in playing video games till late at night because no school tomorrow was the best concept. The summer holidays were all about doing extracurricular activities like dancing, playing cricket, and football, all day long and I still thought how we were so active in those quiet lazy afternoons?
Spent all midday enjoying and playing kanche, chuppa chuppi, and other desi games, riding a cycle through the street that takes you anywhere and felt like a professional rider. At lunchtime when the electricity goes off and desperately wait for the power to come back so that we could enjoy a cooler, similarly constantly opening the fridge for some cool feeling. Another thing we do to beat summer was Rasna was always on the wishlist as the best childhood drink but children suffer lots of restrictions also that only 2-3 times we allowed to drink not more than 3. Watching favorite movies including Hollywood and Bollywood was also a part of spending summer vacation, sometimes reading comics or fiction also, Was also eager to wait hopelessly for the kulfi wale Bhaiya in the evening. And sleeping on the terrace at night, feeling the light breeze of cool air was as cool as AC.
And no stress about the homework. Leave it for the last minute. When the school opening date arrives we hopelessly tried our best to make our holidays homework that teachers gave us in a bulk. And that is how summer vacation comes to an end.
