Teacher's Day is celebrated on 5th September every year to mark the birth anniversary of Indian's second President, Dr.Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan. It is said that some of the Dr.Radhakrishnan’s friends and students visited him and requested to celebrate his birthday after he became the President of India. To which, the former President said that he would be really greatful if 5th September would be rather celebrated as Teacher’s Day. Since then, India has observed this day as Teacher’s Day.
