1. The Rock Garden (also known as Barbotey Rock Garden), Darjeeling-

The rock garden is located some 10kms (or 6.2 miles) away from Darjeeling town in a valley down below. The garden has spectacular views of the beautiful position of the clouds, waterfalls and beautiful flower gardens and shrubberies.

 Location 

Barbotey Rock Garden is located some 10kms (6.2 miles) from Darjeeling town center. From the Hill Cart Road that leads towards Ghum, you will need to take a right turn near Dali Monastery into a narrow road. It takes about 30-40 minutes to reach Rock Garden. Ganga Maya Park is further 3kms (1.8 miles) from here. Both parks have entrance fees.

The garden is usually open from 10 am to 4 pm daily.

How to reach 

One will need to book a taxi or a jeep to access the parks.

2. Nishat Bagh, Srinagar-

This beautiful garden of Srinagar is located on the bank of the Dal Lake, with the Zabarwan Mountains as its backdrop. The garden is a bliss with the magnificent view of the lake beneath the snow-capped Pir Panjal mountain range that stands far away to the west of the valley.

The garden is usually open from 9 am to 8 pm daily.

The lake can be reached by using the public transport.

3.  Lal Bagh or Lal Bagh Botanical Garden, Bangalore-

If one is looking for a soothing place to relax around beautiful flowers Lal Bagh is a must. The garden is covered with beautiful flowers and trees that are over a thousand-year-old.

The garden is usually open from 9 am to 6 pm daily.

Tourist can make use of the public transport to reach the garden.

4. Tulip Garden, Srinagar

A walk in the tulip garden is an entryway to the heaven on Earth.It is filled with the beautiful set of flowers all around.It is a spectrum of colors featuring thousands of tulips, which have blossomed in the lap of Zabarwan hills along the banks of Dal lake.This garden is a feast for the eyes and happiness for the soul.

Ideal time to visit

The flowers bloom only for about 15 -30 days in a year. Depending on the temperature, the blooms may be delayed or arrive early, between the end of March and early April.

5. Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose/Indian botanical garden, Kolkata-

The great banyan tree is the main source of attraction. The great banyan tree is over 250 years old and its said to be the largest in the world.The garden consists trees of the rarest kind from Nepal, Brazil, Penang, Java, and Sumatra.The garden is officially known as Indian Botanic Garden, Howrah’, but commonly its called the ‘Calcutta Botanic Garden’ in India and abroad. The garden is also known for its rich variety of flora and fauna.

The garden is usually open from  6 am – 4:45 pm daily.

How to reach

Tourist can make use of the public transport to reach the garden.
